Program for Health Sector Evolution begins in Dr. H. Rohani’s Presence
President of Iran, Dr. H. Rohani, by his presence in the Ministry of Health, emphasized the effective and accurate implementation of the program entitled “Health Sector Evolution”.
It is notable that universities of medical sciences all over the country were provided with the comprehensive guidelines for implementation of the Health Sector Evolution program in its first phase in May, 2014.
The president, having spoken about this program that it will provide all health services such as diagnosis, treatment and pharmaceutical measures in public hospitals, added that specialists are going to be serving remote and deprived regions in the country.
He stated that although the government might not be able to accomplish all of its goals in the initial steps, effective measures will be ultimately taken in terms of health and treatment. He mentioned that according to the government programs, the health system and insurance are expected to cooperate with each other in order to significantly reduce the cost of drugs and treatment which has to be paid by people.
He also spoke about the capacity of medical universities to admit foreign students from neighbor countries, and added that we are able to become health and treatment center of excellence in the region.
The President pointed out to the government programs in terms of expanding and promoting the efficiency of health insurance card, and said that we are planning to expand insurance coverage in order to insure the ones not being covered yet, and also increase the value of insurance.
Prof. Peyvandi, SBMU Chancellor, drew audience’s attention to the commencement of the Health Sector Evolution program in Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and also highlighted the importance of accurate implementation of this program.
